RN to BSN Program

If you're a RN looking to advance, you can now earn your BSN in as few as three semesters at Chamberlain College of Nursing. RN to BSN classes are flexible in eight-week online sessions, with no on-site clinical requirements. Generous transfer credits, tuition reimbursement and financial aid may also be available for those who qualify.

The bachelor of science in nursing degree program at the Columbus and St. Louis campuses are accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC). The bachelor of science in nursing degree program at the Addison, Columbus, Phoenix and St. Louis campuses is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Careers: Operating Room Nurse

Operating room (OR) nurses, also known as perioperative nurses, hold one of the most valued jobs in medical health facilities. As the name suggests, OR nurses primarily assist doctors with surgical procedures and ensure that patients are receiving proper care. Choosing to become an OR nurse will not only challenge you're academic skills and provide a great paycheck, but will also test your interpersonal abilities. Above all, your job will be to make the patient feel as comfortable as possible.

An OR nurse is a registered nurse (RN) trained to handle the pressures of surgery. But that doesn't necessarily equate to years of prolonged gratification due to schooling. While obtaining your nursing diploma is your ultimate career goal, you can begin work as an entry level OR nurse with an associate's degree. Plus, most clinics and hospitals, in addition to offering a lucrative benefits package, provide ample tuition assistance for their employees. This means that your employer will help you obtain your bachelor's degree and eventually your nursing diploma!

As a perioperative nurse, you are the patient's primary point of contact and will be responsible for all surgical care. In the preoperative phase, you will help collect the patient’s data, review their medical history and prep them for surgery.
